Project Details

'Initially we contacted Jason at Modo about installing an extraction system into our new kitchen. Within 24 hours, Jason had done a site visit and it was clear that Modo are a jack of all trades and master of pretty much everything when it comes to commercial kitchens. Jason worked alongside us to plan out an entire kitchen setup that would fit our new business model, whilst keeping it within budget. Working with Jason is great, he is a perfectionist with an eye for detail. He has a depth of knowledge that gives you fresh eyes to the needs of the chef, the front of house team and he also thinks through the wants and desires of a visiting Environmental Health Officer. 

Opening a restaurant in the middle of a global pandemic is not ideal but the team from Modo were fantastic. We got to see detailed plans, had socially distanced site visits and they also helped us find good lease purchase options which is not easy in the midst of a shaky economy and in an industry under immense strain. Once the kitchen design was all signed off the team at Modo took charge of bringing all the equipment to site.They even offered to move some of our existing equipment for us. Every member of their team that we dealt with was helpful and friendly.

The extraction system went in first and it is a beast! We need it with such a busy kitchen! Our chefs love it! It’s easy to clean, the lighting is great and it does its job incredibly well. We also had a suppression system fitted to lower our insurance and that was all installed with no fuss via the team at Modo also. The following week our kitchen fit began and very quickly we had ourselves a shiny new kitchen! All of our equipment fits like a glove and not one space is wasted.  They even managed to create space for our Meat Smoker on the cook line! We had a few bespoke items from the team too including our gantry, it’s multiple shelves and partitions means we can build orders within them.  Our kitchen can have up to 15 tickets up at any one time so having a system for building each order is important to both the kitchen and Front of House.

The team worked closely with our electricians to make sure that everything was safely installed.They also fitted sinks for us and took care of all of the plumbing that went with the fit. We have had several follow up visits from the team since we opened at the end of September making sure that the design and equipment is working as intended! We think it’s because they care a lot about their customers but it might also be because they also enjoy our food!

The most important thing that we felt working with Modo gave us was that sense that we were in safe hands with a company who were experts in their field.  They created for us a kitchen that worked for our business but also kept our team and our customers safe. 

We have already been offered a second location for 2021 and we will look no further than our friends at Modo for all of our equipment needs!'
